Mou Mou (or Moo Moo) Cheesecake? 2011/9/27 02:29
I live in Chicago and my local Asian marketplace was having its annual Hokkaido food festival. They had a number of desserts available, and I picked up a cheesecake that was alternatively labelled as either a "Moo Moo Dome" or "Mou Mou Dome" cheesecake. It was round with the black and white patterning of a cow. I figured it would have a normal cheesecake flavor with chocolate scattered throughout (the black cow spots), but it actually had more of cheese flavor to it, not the typical cream cheese, but more like CHEDDAR cheese. Do my taste buds deceive me? It wasn't bad, but odd. And it wasn't all that cheap, either. Can anyone tell me what's special about this cake, and is it in fact made with "regular" cheese instead of the usual cream cheese? Thanks!
