Countdown in Tokyo - where should I go? 2011/11/10 03:06
Hi all

I'm planing to stay in Tokyo on 31 December and looking for a good place for countdown festival. Can you please guide me where should I go?

Another question, on that day (31 Dec) is the train operating after midnight?

it is just outside tokyo but kawasaki always have a good outdoor street party with djs fireworks and food stands...surprisingly good for kawasaki...people just dancing in the street till the early hours...its is kind of like an outdoor nightclub.

And by 'rain', I mean run!

As for places to go, I have no idea these days!

Zojo-ji temple will do the countdown for new year. It says all the visitors will release balloons with your wish on the tags at the moment. Should be fun. Then let's move to Meiji Shrine by train, and you will encounter as many crowd as you've never seen before.
