Question to ladies about thigh highs

Hello everybody. My girlfriend likes thigh highs, but she does not like silicone strips at all. She also does not want to attach them to any waistband.
I heard some Japanese stores offer such thigh highs: with no-silicone band, not requiring any waist attachment, holding on leg on their own. Is this true? Can you advise something on shops / brands please.

You mean well but this is the type of things a lady should buy herself..she would be comfortable with a saleslady and vice versa while you wouldn't be..
