What medicine should I take for toothache 2011/12/16 17:18
Hello I am in Japan now.
I have a terrible toothache now and I don`t know what medicine should I take. In my country I use a medicine called Nurofen but I don`t know if I can buy it from here.

So please anybody, could you tell me what medicine from Japan can I take? I am almost dying here.
thank you very much and please be quick

Main ingredient for Nurofen is ibuprofen, and similar painkillers are available in Japan.

EVE (contains 150mg of ibprofen)

Bufferin (130mg)

Ecorune (150mg)

for example.
Hope you'll be able to get them and feel better soon.

Contact Japan Helpline and find a dentist to fix it right so you don't spoil your entire trip.

you can take Nurofen 4 hourly, and then Panadol 4 hourly as well, but in between
ie Nurofen , then 2 hours later Panadl, then 2 hours later Nurofen etc
It would also be fairly sensible to go to a dentist....

There's a medicine called Konchisui (今治水). It's a light anesthetic that you spread over the bad teeth that relieves you from immediate pain (does not cure).

Go to a dentist.

今治水 (Konchisui) is safe popular light medicine that can be bought at drug stores without prescription. I used it to kill off the pain when I was traveling out of Japan.

Attention: Don't drink it. Rub the liquid to the part that hurts. Don't pour it over your tongue, as it will make it numb temporarily.
