I was just wondering how accepted dogs are on public transportation or in taxis in Japan? Are they allowed at all?

On JR trains dogs are only allowed if they are put into a small cage, with cage and dog not exceeding the total weight of 10 kilograms. I assume that other means of transportation maintain similar regulations. The exception are guide dogs for the blind.
I am not sure about taxis, but I don't imagine that you can transport a dog in a regular taxi unless again it is a small dog in a small cage. But I am sure that in larger cities there are companies that provide transportation services specifically to pet owners.

Oh ok thank you! Yes I was just wondering because I don't know how I will get my dog from the airport to my apartment once I move over there, so I'm trying to see if dogs are allowed anywhere or if I'm going to have to find a service
