I am seeking information about a painting that my mother bought while in Japan in 1950. It is a picture of a lovely young girl and is signed Minato 1920. A paper in Japanese calligraphy was taped to the back.I would be interested in knowing anything about Minato and will be happy to send pictures of the painting and the calligraphy to someone who could help me discover anything about this picture and it's artist. Thank you.

Have you tried your local art gallery or museum? Most major galleries have experts in several areas.
We traced a Ukiyo-e painting I inherited by contacting our state art gallery
good luck!
