Come... for? 2012/4/2 12:57
Can anyone illustrate how the sentence structures for the following in Japanese would work?

a) Come to Taiwan!
b) Come to Taiwan for our yearly event!
c) Come to Taiwan for our yearly event if you are free!

I'm trying to understand how the different clauses would be inserted into the basic sentence structure.

Since you say you are trying to figure out how phrases/clauses would be inserted, I will keep the examples very simple :

a) Taiwan e kite kudasai!
b) Taiwan e maitoshi no ibento ni kite kudasai!
c) Moshi jikan ga attara, Taiwan e maitoshi no ibento ni kite kudasai!

In real life, probably saying something "Come to Taiwan to participate in..." would flow more naturally, but the above is just to illustrate the structure :)

If you want to say "go to [place] for [a purpose]," it will be:
- [place] e [purpose] ni ikimasu.
So "I go to Japan for sightseeing" would be:
- Nihon e kankou ni ikimasu.
