Japanese CD-ROMS on a European computer? 2012/4/4 06:01
I bought a CD-ROM with a game on it in Japan. I put it into my laptop but it says it requires a Japanese version of Window in order to run it properly.

Does anybody here know this problem? Is there a patch of some kind, to make Japanese CD-ROMs playable on a European version of Windows?

You could try changing the "Location" in the Region and Language settings in the config panel. If that doesn't work, you could try changing the locale from the Administrative tab from the same Region and Language dialogue.

The Japanese fonts, IME, etc are all part of the standard installation of Windows.

You could install a virtual machine, set Japanese language on it and install the game there :-)
