Volunteer work in rural Japan? 2012/5/11 10:36
Something I have always thought was interesting was rural Japan. I've heard of students going over to volunteer and to help out on Japanese farms in the countryside, does anybody have any info on this?

There is an organization by the name of WWOOF.
I personally don't have any experience with them, or of them so to speak.

Anyway, just Google "WWOOF Japan"

Hope this helps.

I'd just saw a TV program about this American Japanese who organize volunteer work trip to tsunami-torn area. Many young locals left the area to look for jobs, so the old fishing communities still need helping hands to clean the mess and rebuild.
