seeing a sumo in tokyo 2012/6/2 16:50
13yr old son would like to see a sumo wrestler while we are in tokyo, end june. Is there any way to go to where they train, do they run tours etc. thanks

Sure, you can visit a sumo stable and watch their morning practice. Its probably best to go with a tour as English isn't spoken at most stables. This will get you started:

Take the Chuo/Sobu line two stops east from Akihabara to Ryogoku station. There's a Sumo Stadium next door to the station and around back a bunch of noodle shops where the wrestlers like to stuff their faces. You'll probably see them walking around and doing their daily activities in the district, as well.
