Tattoo

Hi I will travel to Japan so I wonder if anyone already did or have information about doing a tattoo in Japan. What are the best options of places to make a tattoo, price range,etc.

To my knowledge, tattoos are frowned upon in Japan. It's strongly associated with the Yakuza (Japanese mafia), so I hear it's difficult to get into respectable establishments if you have visible tattoos. I know a lot of hot spring baths will refuse people with tattoos as well.
