Gifts for parents of the bride?

I will be going to Japan in March, 2013 for a wedding. My nephew is marrying a wonderful Japanese girl. I will not be staying with the family of the bride, but do I bring a gift for them? Anyone else? What kind of gift(s)? Thank you in advance for any information.

Congratulations :) Find out from your nephew what kind of wedding ceremony/banquet it will be. If you are a guest at the banquet after the ceremony itself, the custom is that you present them with a gift of money (in an appropriate envelope).
