Return goods bought from Ghibli Museum shop

Hello everyone, I have a small question, if anyone knows please answer, thank you in advance.

I went to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka and bought souvenir for my friend, but she doesn't like it. Since it's quite expensive I want to return the goods. Is it possible to do 返品 henpin and get refunded?

How recent was it, and do you have the original package (not the wrapping but the package itself) intact and the receipt? If yes, there's a possibility - are you still in Japan? You could call to ask.

I bought it about a month ago, and yes everything is still intact, i have the receipt as well. Thank you so much for your reply!
