Best kushiyaki or yakitori in Tokyo? 2012/8/14 17:52
So, our dream is to open a kushiyaki and sake bar in Sydney, and we are returning to Japan to source ideas and equipment. We know some places we want to check out, but I wonder if anyone can share their favourite kushiyaki/yakitori grill places in Tokyo?

Kushibei (http://www.bento.com/rev/1005.html ) has good sake and yakitori, as does Souten (http://www.bento.com/rev/3265.html ).

I also quite like Hachibei Roppongi (http://www.bento.com/rev/0900.html ).

Though I've only been there as a tourist, I'm an Aussie that could end up a potential customer.... So my limited experience of yakitori and kushiyaki involves having visited a number of places in Omoide Yokocho. I love the tiny post-war feel to them, as well as the food and beer.

I love ToriYoshi, this Yakitori and Tofu are great, although it's chain store.

Thanks Alex, I actually just found out about that place (Toriciya) and we have a booking there this weekend!

Our concept is a bit different, it is yakitori, sake and beer, but more in a funky alleyway bar shape:) But the menu of that restaurant looks divine, I agree!

THanks all for your suggestions, we have a week in Tokyo and will check them out, plus I want to go to Birdland in Ginza.
