ill be travelling to Japan in January next year, arriving in Osaka for a few days before making my way to snowy places (Kanazawa, Shirakawago, Takayama, Nagano, etc)
can anyone advise where i can get snow boots and down jackets in Osaka?
I saw Uniqlo has an ultralight down jacket for around 6000yen, will that be sufficient? And will ABC Mart sell snow boots?
Thanks

i've never seen snow boots in abc mart
as far as an ultralight down jacket being enough, only you can decide that.
i would suggest no, but it depends on you.
personally i'm an extremely hot person and i can climb a mountain that's 0 or -5 at the top and still wear a t-shirt while my japanese companions are freezing and almost dead. for me a uniqlo jacket would be more than enough in most cases.
but most people need more than that. you also need to consider breathability of the fabric, sweat getting trapped in a cheap jacket could make it really uncomfortable for the rest of the day on the mountain
