A quick whip around google shows the more popular (and expensive) jazz clubs in Tokyo but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with small, more intimate clubs?
And on the topic, anyone had experiences with other live houses in Tokyo?

Cheers guys, I just took note of these names. I have visited some small jazz clubs in Nagoya a few years aback and really enjoyed it. Looking to renew the experience in Tokyo.

Hi there, I recommend New Dug in Shinjuku. Made famous in Haruki Murakami's book 'Norwegian Wood'. It's a classy establishment, and may be what you are after?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but New Dug is just a jazz cafe; they don't ever host live music.
(It's also extremely smoky, or at least it was the last times I was there.)
