Leather jacket at a Buddhist Temple?

Okay, this is a strange question, I know. I'm travelling to Japan during the fall, and I have a nice, leather jacket for autumn temperatures. Would it be bad form or in poor taste to wear it while visiting Buddhist Temples?

As far as you are just a tourist visitor, it is no problem with your leather jacket.

I've never seen a sign prohibiting people wearing leather etc from entering a Buddhist temple in Japan, i've seen plenty of Japanese wearing leather shoes though.

If you're a monk, it might be a bad manner but otherwise wearing a leather jacket is not an issue.
