kobe beef in kyoto (or Osaka) 2012/10/18 05:00
Hello,

I'm traveling this november to Kyoto and Osaka. I don't have any time to visit Kobe, but i would really like to eat some kobe steak! I would like to pay a max of 10.000 yen per person. I searched the internet for some good restaurants, but can't really find any.

U guys have some suggestions?

Thx!

I have not eaten here but this came up in a search:-
Misono

Gozanbo

(Not 100% sure they have Kobe but I assume so)

Hopefully one of the "Foodies" on this forum will reply for you.

Not sure why you don't have time to visit Kobe for dinner/lunch. It is only 20 minutes from Osaka to Kobe. Maybe worth considering.

IIRC, there are 3 main top grades of Japanese beef; Matsuzaka, Kobe, and Omi.
They are all named after the region they come from.
"Kobe-style" (massive emphasis on 'style') has become very popular throughout the world, and especially in the US.
If you can't find genuine Kobe beef in Kyoto, but still want excellent quality beef, look for the other two types - I'd consider them also to be Kobe-STYLE.

For Omi you can try here;

It also LOOKS awesome!
