Kyoto Hotel and places to visit

Hi,

I will be travelling to Kyoto with my family from Osaka on Mar26 for 2 days and need help. Can anyone suggest where to stay and what places to visit (i.e Temples etc...) and the hotel should ideally be convenient to the places for visit and transport.

You don't mention any budget but note that this is getting closer to the peak in Kyoto due to cherry blossoms so prices may be higher and some hotels will have minimum night stays.
