My mother wants me to buy her some pearls while I am in Japan.

anybody know a good location for this?

Perhaps it may be much cheaper in the US as the yen is high and most of big pearls come from off of Australia or black ones from South Pacific. The mark up is heavy in Japan. Japan doesn't produce much anymore, maybe small ones due to the pollution. Even the big ones(10 mm or more) are more like plating on a plastic core but succeeded in marketing as the real ones.
