Master Card Acceptance in Japan

Can I please check if Master Card is a more widely accepted credit card in Japan than an American Express card?

I'd say yes, MasterCard and Visa are more widely accepted than Amex.

I concur with AK. I would subjectively rank credit cards starting with JCB as the most accepted followed by Visa, Mastercard, Diners, and then Amex. Unionpay is probably in the middle somewhere and Discover is vexing as I've had a hard time using it despite the fact that it's supposed to be accepted at all JCB locations.
