Japan Embarkation Card

Hey guys. I was just wondering whether I still need to fill out an embarkation card before leaving Japan at the airport. I heard that when you are filling out the disembarkation/embarkation card on the flight when you arrive in Japan, the immigration will just staple the embarkation card onto your passport while they keep the disembarkation card. Once you leave Japan, they will just stamp the embarkation card. Is that true?

Visiting tourists don't need to fill out another card when leaving just as you have explained. The opposite is the case for foreign residents in Japan, though.

Visiting tourists don't need to fill out another Embarkation/Disembarkation Card when leaving Japan for home country, however if they depart Japan to another destination/country then they have to fill another card.
