From and to when will hagoita-market be held 2012/12/22 20:47
I am planning to visit Japan during New Year ; that is to say, the upcoming week. I will be staying at Tokyo from 28-30 of December. I have long been interested in Hanetsuki and wonder if it is possible to buy a hagoita at the so-called hagoita market in Senjoji at such late time of the month. Also, if it is not possible, can I obtain it from elsewhere, such as Daiso and convenience stores?

Unfortunately that famous Hagoita-ichi was from Dec. 17 to 19. However, those are the highly decorative types that people use more for decoration rather than for actual Hanetsuki playing. If you want to purchase a set for playing, I am sure you will find some in toy stores and other places.
