buying a mobile phone in kanazawa

Well, I'm Indonesian, I will go to Kanazawa on January 2013, I have a few questions about buying a mobilephones in Japan.

1. Can I buy a mobilephone there and use it in my hometown? Will it work?

2. Which one is the cheapest there? Sony Ericsson, Samsung or Iphone? Please give me details of the price

Depends more on the model than the brand. Phones start around 5000 yen and go up to around 60000-80000 yen for the more advanced models.
