baby food in Central Tokyo 2012/12/29 01:32
We are taking my 10-month old to Tokyo in February, staying near Tokyo Station. Does anyone know where we can find baby food? I'm guessing maybe convenience stores and drug stores are possibilities. But I suspect that they might not stock baby items as this is not a residential area. Also pessimistic that the few high end markets in the area would carry baby food. Thanks!

If you can't get other answer,
I can recommend AkachanHonpo?
http://www.akachan.jp/
It's a department store for baby goods only.
In Kinshicho, It's about ten minutes by train on Soubu-Kaisoku line that start at underground of Tokyo station.
(Note: You should not take this line in the morning or at night because it's very crowded!)

AkachanHonpo in Kinshicho is left side from North exit of JR station.
(There is at 5F of Arcakit that is adjacent to station.)

BTW, you can watch beautiful Tokyo-SkyTree there.(^-^

There are several drug stores "yakkyoku –ò‹Ç" in and around Tokyo station.

Baby stuff (canned and bagged food, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, etc.) are sold at drug stores.

You should have no problem finding any type of baby item.

Just got back from Tokyo. We ran out of formula, and went looking for some close to Tokyo Station. We struck out at several pharmacies and convenience stores. We finally found some at Matsuya department store in Ginza. Bottom line - Heading to a residential area seems like the best bet, but in a pinch department stores might be the best in a central business area.

Hi, If you are looking for baby cereal then you wont be able to find it in Tokyo. You should bring plenty with you. Regarding other things like baby formula or canned veggies here is the link http://www.kewpie.co.jp/babyfood/products/

The website is in Japanese but you will get an idea about what to look for in a drugstore. The lable contains some english too about the ingredient.
