Hi,
I was wondering about free range meat and eggs. It is readily available in the supermarkets? And what is written on it so I know?
thanks!

It's best to ask for them at "natural food shops" (shizen-shokuhin-ten). Ask if the meat or eggs are "hanashi-gai."

This article may help:

Also free range chicken eggs called shizen tamago or mukashi tamago:

"jidori" is often referred to free range chickens but may not be always true. They are more common in Kyushu. JR Beppu station sells jidori bento.
