Hi,
We may be asked to visit Japan to carry out some work on behalf of another company. Our engineer will not be employed or paid by the Japanese company but will be doing work for 1 to 2 days at their facility. From what I have read it would appear that a tourist Visa will be suitable for this kind of business visit. Can someone confirm this?

I believe that falls within the scope of a temporary visitor's visa, but you may want to call the embassy to be sure.
