For those interview comes late they get the result faster. Do not worry. Since your spouse is Japanese then Japanese citizenship will not make a big difference in japan. You almost can get same benefits. Let’s hope for the best.

It does make a significant difference. Regardless if your spouse's Japanese or not, unless you're an actual citizen yourself, you're not allowed to do certain things like vote, run for office, be enlisted in the military/police, hold certain government job positions, etc.

I was saying in general. Spouse visa have independent working opportunities. People who apply citizenship barely want to do those kind of job which you mention because language and other stuff. In my case I am a system engineer and no plan to change my work. What will change when I get citizenship? I will no longer need visa and will have a good passport and voting right. But I can still do what I am doing without getting citizenship. I told her to help her to be patient. Understand the context first ne. It depends on the person who will process it. Is this your first appointment? Do you have JLPT? In my first appointment they took small test. After that after submission in the interview he said he felt my Japanese is ok so no test required. Before submission the person take care will be different when you submit it.

I am based in Hokuriku I applied in our local homukyoku in Ishikawa. In my case, I officially submitted my papers last January 2022 and got a call for an interview on August 2022 and after 4 months I got approved. I was so surprised because I was expecting to longer for the results since it took 7 months before I got a call for an interview.

I saw my name at Kanpo first and at the same day I got a call from my Tantou and informed me.

I think more results will come this
month(just my personal observation)
because I noticed they publish "帰化の許可"almost every everyday since last month.. I hope everyone gets good news too.

Below there is a date: today as example is shown as 令和5年1月10日
Then, click on 本紙 (第####号）
After that, under 告示, there is a line that says
日本国に帰化を許可する件（法務三九四）
By clicking on that, you will see the first page, do not forget to check other pages, if your name is not the first.
They are not updating daily, few days in a week.
