Haha, reading this thread I'm happy I just have to cook for my wife, not her family. I think I've cooked once or twice for a dad and it's just so nerve-wracking, not that I think he would complain if he didn't like it but still.

Yeah, one of my greatest fears coming to live here. Japan is tops for creating delicious food and superb for presentation. Me, I'm the COMPLETE opposite. I'm the type to dump any kind of food in a pot and just slop everything on one plate and presto, done. Okay, I'm exaggerating (about me), but still, a fancy chef I ain't.
