He asked them if they need any additional documents, they said no documents are complete, If everything is complete then what is the issue, itfs ok they have too many applicants but 8 months and still waitingcc.

Naze san It's okay after issuing the certificate. My daughter refuses to return to Japan. She is 11 years old. The reason is that she doesn't want to leave her school, friends and home. Any suggestions from you?

I understand why she doesn't want to go back to Japan because she is used to life there, school and friends. But I think she should go back to Japan with her family because it's time for her to move to Japan and maybe visit family, relatives and friends on vacation. So yes, you all need to go back to Japan and that would be the better choice now.

Hi All,
My company just applied for my Certificate of Eligibility (COE) last week for an Engineer/Humanities visa at Tokyo Immigration. Does anyone know if it is okay for me to go to Japan on a tourist visa while my COE is still being processed?
I am planning to go for a holiday for about a week and will not stay long or wait for the COE to be approved.
Thank you!

That's natural because maybe they like living there and it's better than in Japan. They are Japanese citizens and don't need to go to Japan. However, if you applied not through an employer but as a spouse of a Japanese citizen, you can apply from abroad and designate a signatory agent who can be any in-law or relative or even a PR relative. you know all that stuff. Once you get the COE, you don't need to enter Japan with the Japanese spouse. However, the Japanese government expecting that and will notice this, and in reality the Japanese sponsor needs to be in Japan during the extensions if not applied for PR or at least the last extension to complete the PR because the COE and visa is a spouse of a Japanese citizen.
AFTER the PR you are no longer subject to immigration visa extensions except when you apply for the Sainyukoku/re-entry stamp as a PR and renew the PR card. but still TAXES must be paid if not they can make two nice hole in the PR and send the person away. you cant be a permanent resident or citizen and not pay taxes again ,you know that, So it's better to enter Japan together at this time. After you get the PR, it's still not free ,If you want to stay outside of Japan for a while you can but even if you get a 5-year re-entry permit to stay outside Japan, you still have to enter Japan at least ONCE A YEAR and ,keep an address, file your taxes and do all the paperwork, otherwise any residency permit may be revoked.
I hear and see a lot of people are saying "Oh, I have the PR residency permit and now I don't have to be in Japan anymore and can just use it as an open ticket to come and go, just like green card holders in the US or other countries think," but in reality, it doesn't work that way. You have a residency permit and you have to live in that country. If you don't want to do that, you just have to become a citizen and then you can leave. but Still,... Still...,Japan is different and they will check you up and your taxes, as long as you can pay the taxes and other things you are ok So you are basically a PR or Japanese citizen and MUST be in Japan and living in Japan , unless you are residing in a country with a permanent residency other than the one you gave up your original citizenship of...it's a complicated thing but Japan is watching you and no other country does it like Japan because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs watches the person through the embassy records and MOJ - Homsho watching thru the records of in and out Japan and as a Japanese citizen you can be a PR of another country and it's legal but if they find out you have re-adopted your previous citizenship or become a citizen of another country they can impose automatic loss of Japanese Nationality / citizenship.

Subject: My COE Experience and Timeline – Hope This Helps!
Hi Everyone,
Ifve been a silent reader on this forum during my COE process. Now that Ifve received my COE, Ifd like to share my experience to help others.
Ifm from Myanmar. I previously received a COE with another company in exactly two weeks, but I couldnft proceed with them. After finding a new job, I had to wait nearly six months to receive my new COE.
Many of you are likely wondering how long the COE process takes. In my experience, if youfve applied before, the review can take longer because you cannot ignore your previous COE application, which requires additional checks.
In my case, the Japanese Embassy requested my previous COE, and I had to send it from Myanmar. Depending on why you couldnft enter Japan earlier, your application may undergo stricter inspection.
How long does it take to get a COE? When I asked the Japanese government agency, they simply said it was still "¢¶" (Still Processing). On average, it takes 3 to 6 months, though the timeline can vary. Some receive it in 1 month or even 2 weeks, while others may take longer.
The processing speed depends on:
Completeness of your documents Immigration office workload Your companyfs follow-up efforts And sometimes, luck! Even if you submit your COE on the same day, the waiting time can vary by company and location. Here are my details:
Immigration Office: Tokyo Category: Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services (One year) Date of Application: Last week of May 2024 (May 25, 2024) COE Issued: November 22, 2024 To everyone waiting, I wish you the best of luck. Stay patient, keep the faith — youfll get there!
Good luck!
