COE processing times

Update about my COE (I applied as an exchange student for the upcoming Spring semester)

Visa type: student
Issued by: Sendai immigration bureau
Application sent to the host university: Jan 11th, 2023
Application approved and submitted to the immigration bureau: Feb 3rd, 2023
PDF copy of COE issued: March 17th, 2023

FYI, the COE has been digitised from March 17th onwards, so there was no hard copy of COE sent to me as I was able to apply for visa with the digital one.

@ben thnx dear every country charges are different and process time also some coe issue 2.5 months some may 6 months my documents are all clear hope for the best result almost 3 months ago

@Domy im pretty sure you well get you’re COE soon. I think the immigration office is also really busy.

Finally got my coe. Category business manager applied while i was in japan last year augus. took me 7 months and 19 days. Finally i can’t return to japan. Everyone stay strong and patience

Is there anyone who come with short visa and extend visa?

I am now extending my visa and waiting for approval, it's already more than a month.
If you have any experience of how long it take to extend the visa, please let me know your experience.

I am living in japan for over 3.5 years and i applied Dependent type CoE Online for my spouse on 3rd Mar'23 and later I realized that I have missed to attach all the required documents like tax certificate, residence certificate etc.,. So, I called them and requested them to unfreeze the Online document attachment option and I reuploaded all the documents on 15th Mar. For me it is tokyo immigration office and till now it shows 審査中 which means inspection pending. I need to get the CoE by this month as I have booked ticket for my wife on 21st May as we plan to come together after I visit my country on 30th April.
The immigration office don't give any idea about date of completion etc., they just tell you to wait.
I am bit worried if i can get it till 29th April.

Its 3months and 15 days still no result as per the lawyer all immgrations are so busy and it will take bit longer time than usual.
They didnt ask any extra documents or ananything hope thats a good thing

Any candidate here whose Employer (Category-1) has applied for COE and still awaiting approval?
My employer applied on 16-Mar. I am still awaiting the result.

Arj@ which country ur from coe issue timing is around 1 to 3 months so how long u ve to wait call immi officer or ur lawyer

yes they mentioned its 1-3 months my lawyer checked then they said (Yokohama immigration) on process only. But i heard from lawyer and from many others immigrations are so busy these days it will take longer than usual.
How long you are waiting now any update regarding yours???
