COE processing times

Anyone here apply CoE from Yamagata? My company applied on August 22, it's been a month now and hear no news. Hope everyone will get their CoE soon

My local Japanese Consulate is in New York City.
I was told No in person appointments are available so I have send my documents by mail. (passport, visa application, photo, CoE, ERFS,
Fast track and Relase of liabiltiy form)

This makes me so anxious lol
However the good news is I can possibly pick up my visa personally when it�fs finished.
So that should save me some time

Received another response from the university my son is planning to attend in Tokyo this Fall and they still haven't received the CoE's. Hopefully in the next few days. They really can't tell us when, which I think is the most frustrating of all. Not frustrated with the university as they can't help what is going on. I just wish the immigration office could give them some sort of a timeline. They have to know how many they have to process and about how many they are getting done a day. Oh well, guess we all just wait and try not to stress. It is what it is at this point. Good luck on your attempts to get to Japan. I did read a story today where Japan may do away with the Covid testing 72 hours before flights to Japan in the coming weeks.

Specialist in Humanities COE application was submitted to Osaka immigration on July 7th. It�fs now August 23rd and still radio silence. Really hoping to hear something soon because my work start date is slated for September. This process really needs to be more streamlined and less confusing.

@hayashi8tk - Good luck getting your CoE. Found out the university my son is hoping to attend this Fall submitted his paperwork early June - the earliest they were allowed to submit - and they still haven't heard anything.

I filled up my coe form which my versity has submitted in june 15. Now its end of August and there's no word about that. My university told me its taking longer than expected and they are thinking of taking classes online for the international students. Tokyo immigration service replied they r still in process. I'm worried now as i was all ready to move into japan😐

We received good news today from my son's university. They are expecting CoE's from immigration in the next few days. Prayers for those who are still waiting that they will receive the same news in the coming days.

This month first batch from Tokyo Immigration was 18 Aug.

My timeline as a software engineer is

22 July 2022: Submitted my documents to my Company
24 Aug 2022: COE was issued

The company I am joining is based in Tokyo, so I think they submitted to the Tokyo Immigration. But I didn't confirm this.

After read this forum, I guess not only me who worry about the COE process lol.

I also worry about the COE process. My company submitted the COE application around 17 July for engineer visa and still have no update until today. I am a bit worry since I have to start to work around first week of September.

I hope there some good news for next coming days soon (also for everyone who also currently waiting for COE)

I�fm so anxious and nervous as well. Submitted my COE application July 12th but still nothing. It�fs been 6 weeks of waiting & I�fm beginning to panic because I am supposed to start work in less than a month from now.

Sharing my experience.
I submitted my application for a student CoE on June 16th, still have not received any updates as of today.

Maybe just bad luck? This is however not my first application, I have gotten a student CoE approved before in the past, I don't know how that affects the application process, does anyone have any information about that?

I hope it comes soon, I still have a month until school starts but it's stressing me out a little.

I submit all the documents to the university in May and they probably apply in June. Today 26 August the CoE is issued.

@cedric3107 That doesn't affect the process. My son was issued a COE for the spring and had to apply for another one for the fall. The universities submit all the applications at one time. The earliest they can submit to immigration is sometime in June. Hang in there. Maybe it will come soon.

I have been following this thread for last month to estimate my COE time. Thanks everyone for keeping everyone updated. I have received my COE today.
This thread is mainly about people applying to universities, but my application is for work purpose. So, my time line is for people who might be looking for that.

Mine took exactly 3 weeks.

The company in Japan applied for my COE in Japan on 5th August and they got it back on 26st August. Then the company sent the original COE to me (in India) and I received it on 28th August.

As far as I know, my COE was applied from Tokyo. Even the company was shocked that I got my COE THIS fast. I am not sure how they process COE internally. Because university COE should've been processed faster because they have a strict time line to follow.

I hope everyone gets their COE soon without any further delay.

My uni applied for my COE in Tokyo since 5th July and now 28th Aug I'm still waiting. TT

University applied for me COE in around early June and I am still waiting for my COE today, Aug 28. My visa application is in just 3 weeks and class starts in just a month..... pretty nerve wrecking not gonna lie
