Where to buy Yamazaki Single Malt Whiskey

my friend manage to help me to get a Yamazaki 2017 LE at 9980 in Hokaido Big Camera (forgot exact branch)

I was in Kyoto recently. To ne exact, a couple of days ago. Bought Yamazaki 12 and Yamazaki Limited Edition 2017 from Liquor Mountain.

Yamazaki 12 Years - 13,800 Yen
Yamazaki Limited Edition 2017 - 11,000 Yen (Around that price. Can't remember)
Hibiki 17 Years - 17,800 Yen
Yamazaki 18 Years - 45,900 Yen

Above is price without tax.

I believe they still have these quantity left. Took a glance at the counter while I paid.

Yamazaki 12 Years - 3
Yamazaki Limited Edition 2017 - 3 to 5
Hibiki 17 Years - 3
Yamazaki 18 Years - 1

I just came from Donki Asakusa this evening with a report on updated whisky prices:

Hibiki 21 - \59,000
Yamazaki 18 - \59,000
Yamazaki 12 - \15,980
Hakushu 12 - \15,000

I find these prices to be ridiculous.. I still have two more days in Tokyo then I move to Osaka for arbout 4 days.. if anyone has any tips on where to find these at Moreno lucid prices in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto area, I will be very happy to have a look..

Yamazaki 12 at Liquor Mountain in Kyoto near Chayama station for 12000

Hi,
I found a mom and pop shop in the outskirts of Tokyo, most of their stocks are covered in dusts.
My finds,
- Yamazaki 2017 limited edition \12,000
- Suntory Special Reserve special white oak blend aged 12 years \2,000
- Suntory Liquer white 25 - \735
- Nikka Rare Super Old - \2,000
Is any of these worth buying?

I found a supermarket (forgot the name) near asakusa with the following:

1. Yamazaki 2017 limited edition: 14800 yen
2. Yamazaki 18:54500 yen

I find it super expensive. What do you all think? Few more days in tokyo, staying at shinagawa area. Appreciate if you can share more tips to hunt the above with reasonable price.

Yep. Without box is definitely more common if you can actually find it.

Has anyone checked out the Costcos in japan for whisky? I know in the states they sometimes have Japanese whisky. I figured the ones in japan should. You guys are really helping me plan my March trip well.

Have just been in Osaka and didn't find anything of interest at Bic camera etc in Shinjuku region. Found a couple of interesting ones such as nikka 12 blend and Kirin 18 year Roku. Decided to hold out and just got to osaka and hit the mother load.

Just walked into a mom and pop style liquor store and they had nearly everything:

Yamazaki NAS, ltd edition, 12, 18 and some others?
Hibiki 12, 17, 21, 30
Nikka, so many to choose from including age variants
A few other solid ones and a few I hadn't heard of.

Picked up a nikka yoichi 10 year (discontinued), yamazaki 12 and a white oak single malt akashi.

Prices were medium to high but who cares for something like the yoichi where finding it is your first problem. Osaka is where it's at

Anyone managed to buy Yamazaki 18 in osaka?
Will be there next week and hope to be able to get it.

By the way, if you want wonderful and rare Suntory products, go to one of the Hibiya whisky bars in Ginza. There are two. The first one specializes in Yamazaki and the second one specializes in Hakushu. You may not be able to buy a bottle, but they serve stuff even the distillery doesn�ft serve at their tasting bar. Whoever owns the bar has an exclusive deal with Suntory to get these products. The yamazaki 1982 is my absolute favorite and I have had the yamazaki 25.

Arrived in Tokyo for a couple days now.

Found Yamazaki 12 for 15,900, Hakushu 12 for 23,000-25,000. Is that the going rate for hakushu 12 now? Seems quite substantial over the yama.

In case anyone is interested, the BIC camera on the 9th floor of the mall above Nagoya station had Yamazaki 12 for 8,380 yen and Hibiki 17 for 11,800 yen as of today (04/06/2018). There were maybe 12 bottles of the Yamazaki. I think the Hibiki only had one left. Not sure if these bottles are still hard to find since I'm not a whiskey enthusiast and this was one of the first stores I popped into.

The Liquor mountain in Kyoto is out of all Yamazaki and Hibiki as of today. Talked to the guy at the front and he said he hasn't seen a shipment come in in a while and doesn't kmow when they'll receive another. Still hunting for anything. Will hit up Osaka, Hakata and Tokyo next. Any leads are much appreciated, thanks!

Hakushu - negative
Hibiki - negative, even for 30.
Yamazaki 18,25 - negative
I have checked the few Liquor Mountains and it�fs negative for everything. There are still Yamazaki 12 at the liquor Mountain north of Ritz Carlton Kyoto which are the ones I�fm looking for. Bic camera, Isetan, donki in Kyoto negative as well.

Did not see anything in Kanazawa.

Shinanoya all outlets do not have any Suntory whisky with age. Looks like it is OOO in multiple places.

In Osaka now and just heard that finding anything of age is like a needle in a hay stack. On auctions here hibiki 17 goes for almost 30,000 and 21 is 45,000 and over which was told to me by a bar owner who knew his stuff.
He said his customers love Yama 18 but they can�ft get it in any shape or form.
