COE processing times

Still waiting�calmost four months now.My patience is exhausted. Contacted immigration office said there is a huge surplus of work. But come on we�fve been waiting for too long. This is torture!!

Been waiting 4 months my COE for a student visa. I�fm studying abroad with AFS USA, none of us have received a COE as they apparently come in one batch for all of us. We all leave in a month, we need it now to get a visa in time. Anyone else experiencing this?

We�fre all in the same page. I don�ft know how you guys are holding up. I�fm this close to just forgetting about it and move on. I will wait till April and if it doesn�ft come through im done.

i suggest you contact or write an email to them urging them about your situation and how long you�fve waited. Atleast doing something will put you a bit at ease. Hope it arrives soon for you

Am also still waiting for mine since November 9th from Tokyo immigration,we called them by the beginning of this month and they added us another one month.

Business Manager Visa submitted to Fukuoka immigration on Dec 19th
More documents requested (regarding office space) Jan 15th and submitted next day.
Still waiting to hear back.

Anyone have datapoints on the business manager visa processing time in fukuoka lately?

When you say "added us another one month," are you saying that they extended their own deadline for finishing the COE to 4 months?

Yes they added another month to make four months which ends by 9th March. Still waiting on them ... fingers crossed.

Applying for a 1 year student visa, school told me they submitted my documents November 28 last year and said I will get results back February 27 this year which in a few days.

I'm assuming they might release theirs in batches because of the specific date but hopefully if I was rejected I would've known by now. Fingers crossed!

Over 200 days now and I only have 140 or so days left on my visa.

so fucked up they do this to people who live an honest life here. separated from my wife for this long isn't ok.

Still, I am not convinced. If delays were already foreseen, the immigration should have notified its applicants about the issue instead of us here all dying to wait for the COE beyond the promised standard processing time. It is not normal to have waited this long.

I'm joining you all in the wait, though I'm still at the beginning of the journey compared to some here, I really sympathize with you all. Having to wait without any sort of timeline is already stressful for me so I really hope it's not gonna take 6+ months. I'll report back when I get news.

I visited Tokyo Immigration Shinagawa branch on 10th January 2024 for the current status of COE, they said it is in progress and may be delivered in February (He was not sure but only saying that may be you will receive COE in February, because most of applications are taking 4 months for processing). Then I requested him for urgent processing, he said that write an application with reason and submit it, which i done on same time.

Waiting from July 2023, applying for myself and my family. Not sure for how long. They said that family could take longer than individual. But, still they don't tell us when.

My daughters are not in school for this 2023-2024 because we were confused and thought that the COE could come faster and we can go there and they could attend the school there.

My employers are reaching them almost every week by phone, when they finally reached them, still no news. What they can say only it's in progress and no additional document needed, no problems with the applications, only need to wait but dunno for how long.

Hope get some news soon coz it's been 7-8 months already
