What is a japan-guide.com user account?

Some interactive features on japan-guide.com require a user account. Every user will be able to access the user account with a registered e-mail address and a password. Participation is free.

How can I sign up?

Click here to sign up for a user account. After submitting the signup form, a confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to activate your user account, will be sent to your e-mail address.


 

Is registration free or does it cost something?

It is free of charge.


 

I do not receive a confirmation e-mail after signing up.

There are many possible causes. The most likely reasons are:

  • You entered your e-mail address with a typing mistake.
  • The confirmation e-mail message was mistakenly classified as junk mail by your mail software or service, and was redirected into the trash or spam folder. (Note that according to a recent study, up to 20 percent of wanted e-mails are wrongly classified as junk mail by hotmail and similar mail services.)
  • Your e-mail account/mailbox is full and does not accept any new e-mails.

Check your spam or trash folder, whether the e-mail was wrongly classified as junk mail. If you can't find it there, try to sign up again with the same e-mail address. If it works, your earlier attempt failed because of a wrongly entered address. Otherwise, click here to request another confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to activate your user account. If this fails again, try registering a different e-mail address of a different e-mail service.

A nickname cannot be changed. Instead, please stop using your old user account and sign up for a new user account with a new nickname.

You can delete your account here. All your profile data, all your ads and all the content of your mailboxes will be deleted.
