November 19, 2013 - Shiodome-Tsukishima: Façades and backyards of Tokyo
This is Shiodome. A model case of modern urban development:

Clear-cut frontier of post-industrial Tokyo:

And this is a 15-minute stroll away, an old-fashioned bridge from Tsukiji to Tsukishima:


Another 15-minute stroll and - here it is:

Messy and warm-hearted:


As any hidden gem it might be not easy to find. Look for Sumiyoshi-jinja shrine:


While places like Shiodome give Tokyo its world hub clout, places like the far tip of Tsukishima give it a human, very human touch:


God save it from modern urban development...
