November 10, 2012 - Autumn colors at Shousenkyou

Last Saturday we went to Shousenkyou in Yamanashi-Prefecture, a nice autumn color viewing spot. It can be reached from Shinjuku by Keio-Line (Change at Takao), or directly from Shinjuku via JR Chuo Line limited express (1h 40min). From Kofu-Station there is a bus going to the gorge.

It is a way along a narrow gorge for about 4km. Walking is best to see the colors, but also horsecars are available.

The sunlight shining through the leaves made them look like they were on fire. It was really intense colors.

Finally we reached the big waterfall at the end at 16:00 hours. The sun was already gone so it might be a good idea to start from the top and walk down.
