Ltd. Exp Odoriko 107 and Kanto Rail Pass

I am planning to go to Kawazu to see the Sakura this sunday via LTD. EXP ODORIKO 107 train.

Is Kanto Rail Pass valid on this train. I read that it is not valid for Tokaido shinkansen. But LTD EXP is not considered shinkansen right?

Yes, the pass is valid on the Odoriko limited express trains. Limited express trains are not shinkansen. The pass is valid all the way to Kawazu (and beyond to Izukyu Shimoda), but it is not valid on the Odoriko trains that travel from Atami to Shuzenji, but it does not seem you are planning to travel there.

No, it is not necessary, at all. The train also carries non-reserved seats.

Yes. The train seems to be fully booked out, so I recommend to be at the platform at Tokyo Station ahead of departure time to try to secure a non-reserved seat. Sunday, good weather and full bloom will result in big competition for these seats.
