Osaka to Yoshino 2013/3/10 20:44
Can some one please let me know how we can travel from Osaka to Yoshino to view the cherry blossom. Is it possible to use the JR pass for this trip. I plan to go there on 7 April. Thank you

JR-Pass works until JR Yoshinoguchi sta.
after JR Yoshinoguchi then Kintetsu line(not JR)
to end sta "Yoshino".

A more direct way is to start your journey from Tennoji“V‰¤Ž›, within the Osaka JR circular route.
You first travel from wherever to Tennoji. Most obvious is by JR but you may also take subway if you know your way around.
Next to Tennoji JR station is the Mietetsu Abenobashi–¼ècˆ¢•”–ì‹´ Station, which has direct train to Yoshino (end of line). There are 2-3 run per hour and cost between Yen 1000-1700 depends on type of train (Express or Super Express with reserved seats).
The Mietetsu Yoshino station is right next to the ropeway uphill. Or the shuttle bus terminus.

Sorry, the train operator should be Kintetsu‹ßèc, not Mietetsu.
It can be very crowded on flower seasons, so goo luck to get on board.
