Ryokan near Tokyo

I've stayed in ryokan that needs access by the car. But this time I will be staying in Tokyo only for a week and I would love to stay over night at a ryokan again.
Is there are nice ryokan in or near Tokyo that's easy to get to by train?

There are not a lot of full-service ryokan in Tokyo itself. Instead, I recommend to visit one of the onsen resorts outside of Tokyo. There are Hakone and Fujigoko, but I find that a lot of ryokan in these popular destinations are a little bit overpriced. I would rather recommend a ryokan in Nagano, Gunma or Tochigi. All these places can be reached within 2-3 hours by train and/or bus from Tokyo.
