Hakone free pass

Hi! Wondered if someone can help me: (really silly question but just want to check)
Was thinking of going to hakone on the 23rd May from tokyo in the morning and going to buy the Hakone free pass (2 days), can I still use it to travel back to tokyo on the 25th in the afternoon?
Or is the pass only valid for 48 hours and after that, can;t use it anymore?

Buy the 3-day pass. It is only 500 Yen more expensive than the 2-day pass.

The hakone free pass can only be used in hakone area only am I right? I don't think you can use it to go back to Tokyo. Am I wrong?

The pass is valid from the day of purchase, so if you purchase it on the 23rd, your pass starts on the 23rd and you can use it upto the 24th, if you are going to tokyo, get the shinjuku-hakone pass 3day at 5500Yen if you intend to return on the 25th, from shinjuku, you need to make your own way back to tokyo station.

if you buy the pass in shinjuku at 5000 yen 2days or 5500 yen 3 days, you can return to shinjuku within 2-3 days, but only allow once per way.
