Chichibu and Nagatoro - Autumn Foliage 2013/4/29 22:58
Konichiwa,

We are from the photographic society of singapore planning 10-day trip to Chichibu & Nagatoro. When is the best time for autumn floiage? Can you help suggest an itinerary? We need road guide and maps, transportation guides and maps, hotel accomodations, places of interest especially for autumn leaves. Can you provide brochures for Chichibu & Nagatoro and send it to:

When is the best time for autumn floiage?

In the average year it is from mid to late November. It is too early to make a forecast for this year, though.

Here are some resources:

For printed material, JNTO Singapore should be helpful:

Why is it Chichibu/Nagatoro? If you look for a good autumn leaves point, there are many candidate locations around.

Two days may be enough for Chichibu/Nagatoro if I might add. I guess early to mid November is the best season for the leaves there. The climate is warmer than before, so it tends to come late in recent years.

If you take a train, it takes about 90 minutes at least from Ikebukuro to Chichibu by Seibu line. You may need a rental car or mini-bus if you want to move within the area efficiently.
