From the bus stop, rather then get the ropeway, is there any path that I can go by foot? How long would it take?
And also, I would like to know about the possibility of lodging at the temple.

Yes, you can also walk instead of taking the ropeway:

I have never climbed myself and have troubles finding estimates, but I would guess that it takes about one hour to ascend from the lower to the upper ropeway station.
