Osaki Station to Kyoto

Hi,first time traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto. I be staying at New Otani Inn tokyo near Osaki station. Please advise how should I travel from Osaki station to Kyoto station. I had also brought the 7 days JR pass.

Shinkansen "Hikari" seat booking possible (from a month) before
at JR Osaki station or most JR station in Tokyo ticket office.

if hope for viewing "Mt.Fuji" in window side seat position "E" best.(request possible)

Take the Yamanote Line just one station from Osaki to Shinagawa and then take a Hikari train along the Tokaido Shinkansen from Shinagawa to Kyoto. There are two Hikari trains per hour.
