Best way to Shizuoka please?

I have never traveled abroad before. I am from the US. I will be going to Japan for my first time in late April, or early May of next year. I will be there for 3 weeks, and I will be visiting a friend in Shizuoka the entire stay. My question is, which would be the best (most cost efficient)airport to use? The airport in Shizuoka only connects through Korea and China, and it appears to cost way more. So I am assuming I have to fly into Tokyo and take the train??? Please help!!

your right ,easier to fly into Narita get the N'EX to Shinagawa ( little bit easier to navigate than Tokyo station) then Shinkansen to Shizuoka

The last time I visited a friend in Shizuoka, I took a plane to Narita Airport. Once you exit the arrival gate, there will be many booths outside. I took the bus to Tokyo Station. It cost about 900 Yen. Next, I took a shinkansen to Shizuoka which cost about 6000Yen. It takes 60 minutes. You can also check out on the train tickets at http://www.hyperdia.com/
