Itsukushima Shrine closing time

Hello,
I have been researching about going to visit the shrine...from what I have gathered the closing time is 6:00pm - does anyone know if this just for the treasure hall or if I can still get close to the shrine after 6:00pm?

After the ticket office closes at 5 PM, you can't walk out onto the shrine any longer. You can walk all around it though which is the best way to view it at night when the lights are turned on. You get pretty close to it after it closes.
