Hokkaido in late Nov

My family booked a holiday to Hokkaido from 24 to 30 Nov 2013. I read in some forums that this is a between-season period, hence, not much to see - no colourful autumn leaves & not much snow yet. We are kind of disappointed but booking is made & can't be changed. Is it true that there's not much to see in Hokkaido during this period.
