Autumn leaves in Tokyo 2013/10/14 12:37
We will be visiting Tokyo from 01 Nov to 03 Nov, and staying in Shibuya. Where would be the be a best and nearest place to see Autumn leaves. Thank you

We went to Nikko at that time of year in 2010 and it was stunning.
Tokyo itself may be a little early, but we also went to Rikugien and has some lovely colours.
Good luck!

Yoyogi Park (near Harajuku station, also walking distance from Shibuya)

Shinjuku Gyoen (near Shinjuku station, 200 yen entrance fee which keeps out the homeless and students practising their musical instruments etc)

There won't be much in Tokyo that early. Head north, or at least to higher elevations, if you want to see any color. Even nearby mountains (like Mt. Takao or Mt. Mitake) don't usually begin to turn color until November 15 (at the earliest).

Here are some samples.

And also Jingu-gaien is very popular for Ginkgo trees.

I can recommend to take train from Shibuya to Gaien-mae on Ginza subway-line when you visit there.

Mt Takao should be nice and it's fairly easy to get to.

Thank you very much, everyone. Great advice. By the way, would Karuizawa be a good idea ? Thank you
