The Y500 is the Limited Express fee you need to pay if you use the Rap:t. A regular express train takes about 10 minutes longer and is included in the Kaiyu ticket.
The special Kaiyu ticket is a bargain @ Y3000.
Regular entrance fee is Y2300 plus 890 each way from Kansai Airport to Osaka plus subway fares to and from the Kaiyu.

I had planned to go to Koyasan, but the more I read and the more photos I saw, it became clear it is mainly one huge cemetery. It is of great religious meaning to Japanese, but for a foreigner ???
I have changed my plan and will go to Mt. Hiei instead.
