Stopping at Chureito Pagoda 2014/1/28 20:05
Hello Everyone,

I'm very greatful that my previous questions were immediately answered. Thank You.

While travelling from Kanto to Kansai Region, I would like to make a stop to take a picture of Mt.Fuji at Chureito Pagoda.

How do I get to Shimo-Yoshida Station (opposite the pagoda)? Which JR Line should I take?

Thank You,
Folkie

You should take the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki, then the Fujikyu Railway to Shimo-Yoshida. After seeing the pagoda, take the Fujikyu Railway to Fujisan Station and from there the Fujikyu bus to Gotemba. Then take the JR local trains from Gotemba via Numazu to Mishima from where you can catch the shinkansen to Kyoto.

That's quite a detour btw, so I hope you're going doing one of the more picturesque seasons (cherry blossom and autumn). Btw, try to go as early in the morning as possible as the view of Fuji is best before the clouds roll in.
